At the 2009 Le Concours Des Vins du Victoria , presented by the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the 2007 Blackjack Shiraz was awarded a gold medal and a silver medal for the 2007 Blackjack Cabernet Merlot.

This follows on from a gold medal and Best Shiraz of the Show at last year's 2008 Le Concours des Vins du Victoria which was awarded to the 2006 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz.

Le Concours des Vins du Victoria in a unique wine competition that involves a panel of French wine  judges and sommeliers judging Victorian wines.

At the higly competitive and prestigious 2009 Visy Great Australia Wine Challenge the 2007 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz was awarded  a Silver medal and inclusion in the Top 50 best wines. This is the thrid year in succession that a Blackjack Shiraz has featured in the Top 50 Shiraz.

The Visy Great Australian Wine Challenge attracts entries from all over Australia and open  to any vintage  provided the wine is still available for sale through a retail outlet or cellar door.

Blackjack Vineyards was one of four Bendigo wineries to be awarded 5 Stars in the latest James Halliday Australian Wines Companion 2009 Edition.

The 2005 Blackjack Shiraz picked up a Gold medal at the 2007 Winewise Small Vignerons awards. To quote the editor, “The editor is glad, after praise of this wine in the June issue that it rated so well with the judges. This spicy Shiraz with high-toned red fruits aromatics is generously flavoured and supple. The length of the palate and balance are exemplary”.
