A couple of good scores from Jeremy Oliver Annual : Jeremy Oliver's Website

2012 BLACKJACK BLOCK 6 SHIRAZ  93 points

This smooth, tightly focused and charmingly balance shiraz has a bright, faintly minty bouquet of cassis, blackberries, fresh cedar/mocha and a deep scent of cracked pepper. Supported by a fine, dusty spine of crunchy tannins, its intense core of cassis, blackberry and redcurrant flavour knits artfully with polished, fine -grained oak, finishing long, fine indulgent with refreshing acidity.

2012 BLACKJACK SHIRAZ  93 points

Long and brightly lit, this intense, crafted and stylish shiraz has a penetrative bouquet of cassis, blackberries, dark plums and smokey mocha/vanilla oak laced with nuances of black pepper, spice and vanilla. Sweet and juicy, with a fine, powdery spine, it's initially quite lean but acquires death and richness down the palate, finishing with elegance, persistent flavour and a refreshing acidity.

A couple of reviews from Stephen Tanzer for the 2010 BLACKJACK SHIRAZ AND THE 2009 BLOCK 6 SHIRAZ.

He tasted these and an Australian tasting arranged by Wine Australia.
Here are his tasting notes:

2010 BLACKJACK SHIRAZ     91 Points
Inky purple, Ripe cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by vanilla and indian spice nuances. Rich and creamy, with densely packed flavours of singed plum, cherry compete and vanilla. Very fresh and energetic for such a hefty wine, with juicy acidity giving lift and focus to a sweet, gently tannic and very long finish.

2009 BLACKJACK BLOCK 6 SHIRAZ    90 Points

Vivid ruby.Smoke and spice accented aromas of friend cherry and pungent herbs. Taut, sharply focused redcurrant and bitter cherry flavours flesh out with air and pick up notes of cola, anise and dark chocolate.Sweeter on the finish which shows very good clarity and tooth-dusting, harmonious tannins.
